HMS closes out 2023/24 Financial Year with two major handovers in St Helens

Finishing the financial year strongly, award-winning contractor, HMS has handed over a further two housing developments to Torus, equating to £6.6 million invested in the creation of 45 new homes - taking HMS past 250 new and refurbished homes completed in 2024.

Completing works at Grange Park on Springfield Road in St Helens and Railway Court at the former Railway Inn in Newton-le-Willows, HMS has regenerated two key local sites and bolstered access to affordable housing options in the region.

With Grange Park seeing a mix of 30 houses and bungalows built, following the demolition of seven apartment blocks, HMS has completely transformed the Springfield Road site.

Railway Court has also seen HMS regenerate and redevelop a site that had been long-overlooked and demolished the former Railway Inn – which had been vacant for several years before development began – to create 15 much-needed homes in the town centre. Railway Court will give residents access to a number of local amenities and of course, easy access to public transport via Earlestown Train Station.

Supporting the handovers of Ecclesia Park in St Helens, Station Mews in Allerton, Liverpool, Kingsway House in Warrington, Brookside Close in Prescot and a number of homes at Ferrersfield in Knowsley, this quarter alone HMS has completed 251 properties, and nearly exceed its annual developments target in just three months.

Discussing HMS’ latest tranche of handovers, Construction Director, John Barrow, said: “It’s fantastic to see another two schemes handed over and to be closing out the financial year on a high. Grange Park and Railway Court are both brilliant schemes and ones the team have worked incredibly hard to deliver to a high standard, which is clear to see in the finished products.

“It’s been a busy year for HMS, with five schemes already handed over in the first few months of 2024 alone, but for me, it’s something to incredibly proud of as it shows just how hard we have worked to grow our new build workstream. Since 2018, our construction activity has grown exponentially and to be delivering schemes of this quality on a regular basis is testament to the team's skills and expertise. I can’t wait to see what's next for HMS and to continue delivering schemes of Grange Park and Railway Court’s quality.”
