HMS was appointed by The Challenge Academy Trust (TCAT) to undertake external and internal works at Padgate Academy, a coeducational secondary school in Warrington.

As a live site, with around 500 pupils and staff on-site throughout the week, particular attention was paid to minimising any disruption to the school day and maximising health and safety.

External works included the refurbishment and replacement of the existing roof.

An extensive programme of internal works included:

• Fire safety works and the replacement of fire doors and fire compartmentation works throughout the campus
• The refurbishment of 3 science labs
• Emergency refurbishment works to the Academy kitchen
