Knowing college and academia wasn’t where she wanted to be, Erin applied for HMS’ Apprentice Scheduler opportunity as soon as she saw it.
“I’ve always known that I wanted to get into an apprenticeship and start my career as soon as possible, so when I saw the opportunity online, I had to apply straight away. I also wanted to start my apprenticeship at a company that was well known and had a good reputation locally – which is why I chose to apply – HMS is ultimately a large company and one that will give me opportunities that I wouldn’t get in other, smaller organisations.”
Starting her apprenticeship earlier this year, Erin is already a firm part of the HMS Scheduling Team and providing much-needed admin support to all of HMS’ customers.
“I knew I wanted to be in an admin-style role as it will open up so many opportunities for me in the future and I’m really enjoying it so far. Not only will I finish my apprenticeship with a NVQ Level 3 in Business Admin, but with 3 years' experience in a business and within a team that are so lovely and supportive, so in my eyes, that’s a win.
“I honestly feel that nowadays, apprenticeships offer you the best of both worlds as you can earn while you learn and I’m really happy that I took the plunge and applied.”
